Famous rapper Kendrick Lamar is featured in the verses of this remix of Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood. The song, originally sung only by Swift herself, became the 3rd chart-topper from the pop singer’s 1989 album.
Entertainment Weekly described Bad Blood as a “chant-along fight song”, while Rolling Stone emphasized that it indeed is “The angriest song on 1989”. In an interview with the same Rolling Stone, Swift explained the story behind the vicious lyrics by stating that “For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?’ She did something so horrible. I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.’”
The Washington Post have speculated that Katy Perry is the subject of the song due to her hiring away some of Swift’s dancers for the Prism tour. Perry then responded to the song’s attacks via a tweet.
Bad Blood spent 1 week at number one in Billboard Top 100 before being dethroned by Wiz Khalifa’s See You Again (featuring Charlie Puth).
